Love your boundaries
Love your boundaries
A few years ago, I was at a lecture in Oslo. I don't remember much about what the lecture was about, but I remember well a sentence was said "LOVE YOUR BOUNDARIES". I took this sentence to heart. It can be so difficult to set boundaries for yourself in many relationships and things that happen in life. A light came on for me that day. Not because I hadn't heard many people talk about setting boundaries, but because no one had said these exact words - that I could LOVE my boundaries. It was so beautiful. Setting boundaries for yourself is a BEAUTIFUL thing and you are allowed to LOVE your boundaries. I have made a picture for this sentence where a woman lies close to a wall that is supposed to represent a boundary. She holds her arms around her boundaries, closes her eyes and smiles. She feels GOOD when she dares to love her boundaries and she is confident in herself.
Loving our boundaries is a beautiful and empowering practice that allows us to understand ourselves better and set healthy boundaries for our lives. When we acknowledge and respect our limitations, we show ourselves care and love. We give ourselves permission to be authentic and honest about who we are and what we need, and we also give other people clear signals about what works for us and what doesn't.
Loving your boundaries doesn't mean limiting yourself in any way, but rather living your life to the fullest with clarity and self-awareness. It means taking responsibility for your own needs and desires, and communicating them clearly to others in a respectful manner.
When we accept our own boundaries and take care of ourselves, we open up to a greater sense of freedom and inner peace. We can explore our own identity and unfold our potential without being limited by the expectations of others or our own self-imposed boundaries. In short, loving your boundaries is a beautiful way to show yourself and the world that you are valuable and deserve to be respected and loved for who you are.
